Out of the 9 solo piano pieces from Alan’s well received debut album Introspection, 7 were chosen by ANZCA Music Examinations for inclusion in their 2018 – 2020 piano syllabus. ANZCA conducts instrumental examinations in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.
The first half of the program consists of acclaimed virtuoso concert pianist Nicholas Young performing the ANZCA/Introspection repertoire; on a rare Australian made 102 key 4-pedal Stuart & Sons Concert Grand Piano that resides at Tempo Rubato. After Intermission, the second half features the ‘Rare View’ Victoria Premiere: consisting of 3 new piano pieces and 5 chamber works. Joining Nicholas will be the acclaimed concert cellist and Australia National Academy of Music Fellow Gemma Kneale and Melbourne Opera Orchestra concertmaster Ben Spiers.
